SMS Text Messaging Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions govern the text messaging programs offered by Townsen Memorial Health System LLC (“Townsen,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By enrolling in or participating in a Townsen text messaging program, you agree to these Terms. Our SMS Text Messaging Privacy Policy, available at https://www.townsenmemorial.com/sms-privacy-policy, is part of these Terms.
1. Program Description
Depending on the program you join, Townsen sends appointment confirmations and reminders; scheduling, registration, and check-in messages; pre-procedure and post-procedure instructions; patient portal and test result notifications; billing and account messages; one-time passcodes; patient satisfaction surveys; and, only with your separate written consent, marketing messages. Messages are sent by Townsen or by a vendor on our behalf and identify Townsen as the sender.
2. Consent and Enrollment
You enroll by providing your mobile telephone number and agreeing to receive text messages through a registration or intake form, an online scheduling form, your patient portal communication preferences, an electronic consent form, or another documented opt-in method. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of receiving medical treatment or of purchasing any goods or services. Marketing messages require your separate prior express written consent. When you enroll in a recurring program, we will send a confirmation message that identifies Townsen and tells you how to get help and how to opt out.
3. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies and depends on your appointments, the services you receive, and the programs you have joined.
4. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply to each message sent to you and each message you send to us. Contact your wireless carrier with questions about your text or data plan.
5. Opt-Out
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. We also honor replies of QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE, and requests made by any other reasonable method, including a call or email to the contacts in Section 7. We may send one final message confirming your opt-out. If you receive more than one type of text message from us, our confirmation message may ask whether you want to stop all text messages from Townsen or only that type; if you do not respond, we will stop all text messages to your number that require your consent. We will honor your request promptly, and in any event within ten business days. You may re-enroll at any time.
